ABOUT US

Currently the most popular early music ensemble in America, San Francisco based Voices of Music performs both renaissance and baroque music, drawing upon the many and varied sources for historical performance practice. Performances are primarily one on a part, with an emphasis on combining both instrumental and vocal styles of interpretation and ornamentation. Voices of Music is a pioneer in digital technology for the arts, and more than 80,000 people watch concerts and programming from our ensemble each day—more than eighteen million viewers a year. In addition to our acclaimed Concert Series in the San Francisco Bay Area, Voices of Music sponsors the Emerging Artists Program, the Junior Recorder Society and the Barbary Coast Recorder orchestra. Voices of Music is Non-Profit 501(c)(3) organization.

MISSION STATEMENT

Our goal as artists and teachers is to offer concerts and recordings of music composed before 1800, affordable educational programs for children and adults, advanced training for the next generation of young professionals and community outreach. We provide music of the highest quality in live performances. Through innovative programming as well as original and passionate artistry, we introduce new audiences of all ages to the world of early classical music.
